The test contacts separate IPv4 and IPv6 endpoints to see whether your current Internet connection can use each protocol family.

How to read the result

If IPv4 works but IPv6 does not, your connection still relies primarily on IPv4. If both work, the connection is commonly described as dual stack. A temporary failure of a test endpoint can still create a false negative.

Why test both?

IPv4 and IPv6 can follow different network paths. Router, firewall or ISP configuration can therefore break one while the other continues to work.
